Section 2. INSTALLING THE E32A SSR INTERFACE 45
2.3.1 PLC/CNC connection cable: connector J1
• Connect the Cannon 25 pin connector as described in the below tables, depending on the type of arm
in use.
• Use a shielded cable with adequate wire cross section.
• Ensure that the shielding braid of the above cable makes good contact with the metallic part of the 25
pin D-type connector.
• The PLC/CNC connection cable must be less than 25 metres long.
• Connect the prepared cable to the E32A SSR interface.

N.B.
Pins 1-8-9 and 13-25 are already connected together internally, so it is sufficient to connect to only
one of each group to +24V or 0V.
Refer to the following table for signal descriptions:
PIN N° SIGNAL DESCRIPTION
6 Aro: Arm Ready Output: informs the PLC/CNC that the MIDA TOOL EYE arm has
reached the measurement position.
7 Mro: Machine Ready Output: informs the PLC/CNC that the machine is in the
ready condition:
MIDA TOOL EYE arm at rest.
21 NO Fault Informs the PLC/CNC that there is not an alarm present on the E32A SSR.
24 Inhibit Inhibit input: set to logic level 1 to disable touch signal processing, so that
the touch probe always appears as not deflected.

Probe Output: touch signal after being processed by E32A SSR when set to
sink/source hardware mode in function of JP1.
